We want your input in the Surrey Schools 2022-23 budget consultation!
Surrey Schools is inviting all staff, students, parents and members of the Surrey and White Rock communities to learn about the 2022-23 district budget and provide their feedback.
Participants can share their feedback via an online survey, which is available in English, Punjabi, Chinese and Arabic. Or, reach out to us through email (consultations@surreyschools.ca), traditional mail (14033 92 Ave., Surrey, B.C., V3V 0B7) or your local school's Parent Advisory Council (PAC) representative.
"This forum is an opportunity for us to hear directly from our parents, our students and our larger community," said Laurie Larsen, Chair of the Surrey Board of Education. "Hearing from you is vitally important in helping to know where to focus our resources."
"Community input is an important consideration for our board and we hope that each of you will take some time to fill out our survey to help inform our decisions," said Terry Allen, Vice-Chair of the Surrey Board of Education and Chair of the Finance Committee.
While the majority of the district's budget is pre-allocated to operating and capital costs (i.e. school construction, additions, seismic upgrades, teachers, educational assistants, programs/services and supplies), there is some room to address priorities identified by the community. This can include anything from funding scholarships to classroom enhancement funds to new programs and social initiatives.
Surrey Schools is honored to be in the position to help shape the future of the city's youth, and your valuable input helps us ensure our learning environments truly reflect the diverse communities that we serve.
