StrongStart

StrongStart Centres open on September 16, 2024 for the 2024/25 school year. We look forward to welcoming our early learners and families to our schools!  

StrongStart is a free drop-in program for a parent/caregiver and their child(ren) aged birth to five years old. StrongStart supports the development of young children prior to school entry, consistent with the goals of the British Columbia Early Learning Framework. Those attending can expect to participate in organized sessions like story-time and play activities. Parents and caregivers discover new ways to support children's learning at home while making valuable connections with others in the community. There are currently StrongStarts at 23 schools throughout the district.

 New Registrations:  If you are new to Surrey StrongStart and would like to register, please register online through our district website HERE. Please note, StrongStart programs are only available at 23 school sites. Please ensure you are registering at a StrongStart Centre when completing your registration as the school name will indicate "StrongStart Centre" in the drop down menu of schools listings. If you have questions or need assistance with registration, please see the StrongStart location brochure for contact information for each site.

 Returning Families: If you have already registered and attended StrongStart before, your program facilitator will reach out to you via email to confirm your interest in participating in StrongStart this year. If you do NOT hear from your facilitator, please contact your site facilitator through the email provided in the program brochure.

StrongStart 2023/24 Health and Safety Guidelines:

• Children and parent/caregiver should continue to complete Daily Health Assessments and stay home if sick.
• Children and parent/caregiver should continue practicing frequent hand washing, good respiratory etiquette and maintain personal distance when possible.
• While wearing a mask is optional, it can reduce your own personal risk and the likelihood of transmitting to others.

StrongStart in Park will continue throughout the 2024/25 school year.  This is an opportunity for families to participate in outdoor early learning sessions at park locations throughout Surrey.
