The Surrey Board of Education is responsible for establishing policies, ensuring implementation and monitoring the results within the school district.

The initiation and review of new and existing policies is an ongoing process that reflects the operational needs of the district and is maintained through consultation with stakeholder groups such as parents, staff, students and community members.

One of the primary functions of the Board of Education is to develop policy for the effective and efficient operation of our school district. The Board sets the vision, guiding principles and goals for the district, and policies and procedures reflect those values and provide the foundation and guidance for the work being undertaken throughout the organization.

Policies assist the district with compliance, risk management, and creating working and learning environments that are safe, inclusive, and equitable for.
