Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

SEL Vision: School communities have the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to cultivate rich opportunities for the development of our learners’ social and emotional well-being

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is an integral part of education and human development. SEL is the process where adults, children and youth acquire and apply knowledge, skills and dispositions to:

  • develop healthy identities
  • manage emotions
  • achieve personal and collective goals
  • feel and show empathy for others
  • establish and maintain supportive relationships
  • make responsible and caring decisions

SEL has the opportunity to advance educational equity and excellence.
