Policy 10310 - School Volunteers
1. | PHILOSOPHY1.1. | The Surrey Board of Education considers that volunteers can make a valuable contribution to student learning in schools. |

2. | INTENT2.1. | It is the intent of the board to comply with the provisions of collective agreements including provisions which restrict the use of volunteers. | 2.2. | It is the intent of the board that school volunteers be selected, oriented and supervised in order to:
a) | Minimize risk to students; and | b) | Maximize contribution to realizing the school district objectives. |

3. | AUTHORITY3.1. | Administrative officers are authorized to utilize school volunteers within the context of board’s aforestated intent. | 3.2. | The board assigns district administration the responsibility and authority to establish district standards and practices for the utilization of school volunteers.
