Policy 7260 - Employees’ & Visitors’ Identification Badges
The Surrey Board of Education believes that all reasonable steps should be taken to maximize the safety and security of students and staff, as well as provide protection of the board’s assets, through the mandatory wearing of identification badges by staff and visitors. |
Administration will develop, implement, and maintain a program that ensures the board’s objectives are achieved. |
1. | SCHOOLS’ IDENTIFICATION BADGESTo maximize the safety of students while in attendance at school and protect the board’s assets, all district staff and authorized visitors must wear a school district authorized identification badge that is easily visible at all times on school premises. |

2. | DISTRICT OFFICES’ IDENTIFICATION BADGESIn an effort to maximize the safety of staff while at work in district offices and protect the board’s assets, all district staff and authorized visitors must wear a school district authorized identification badge that is easily visible at all times on district premises. |

3. | ISSUANCE AND DISPOSAL OF IDENTIFICATION BADGESA process of issuance and disposal of identification badges will be adhered to in order to ensure the highest level of control over their use in both schools and district offices. Administration will establish the approved processes and communicate these through the appropriate channels.
