External Research
Important: The Surrey School District will review a limited number of research applications from external applicants each year through our online portal. Research applications may be submitted during two windows each year between: (a) October 1st and November 30th and (b) March 1st and April 30th.
Surrey Schools Employees and School-Community Partnerships: If you are an employee of Surrey Schools who is conducting research as part of a degree program (e.g., master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation), please submit your research application by clicking on the link below. If you are part of a School-Community Partnership, please complete the following application HERE. For both SD36 employees and members of a School-Community Partnership, we review research applications throughout the year.
Surrey School District values research that contributes to improved educational outcomes for students. All individuals and organizations interested in conducting research in the district must have their proposals reviewed and approved by the Research and Evaluation Department. External research requests are reviewed to ensure that research and evaluation projects conducted in the district are ethically and methodologically sound. The district is particularly interested in research related to BC's redesigned curriculum and in alignment with the Surrey School District's Priority Practices.
Please note, we only accept applications through our online system. The review process takes between 4 to 6 weeks, and applicants should plan for this when submitting an application.
