Help us name our new school in the South Surrey area!
The Surrey School District is excited to begin working on plans for the development of the new elementary school located at the corner of 20 Avenue and 174 Street in South Surrey.
As we prepare to add this new school to our community, we need your help to choose a name that reflects our local identity, values and aspirations.
Laurie Larsen, Chair of the Surrey Board of Education, emphasizes the importance of community involvement: “Schools are central to our neighborhoods, and the name of this new school should inspire future generations and represent our collective spirit and history.”
How to Submit Your Suggestion: You can submit your proposed name through our online form available HERE. Please include an explanation of your choice and its significance, adhering to the guidelines of district policy 6600 (Naming of School Facilities).
The deadline for submissions is 11:59 p.m. on May 9, 2024.
The school naming committee, including district officials and two trustees from the Surrey Board of Education, will review all submissions.
“We are excited to see the creative and meaningful names our community proposes,” added Larsen. “This new school symbolizes our commitment to enhancing educational opportunities in South Surrey, and we are eager to open its doors with a name that proudly reflects our community’s heritage and vision.”
