Recognizing Surrey Schools staff for Administrative Professionals Day – and every day!
They are often the glue that holds our schools together, and for this year’s Administrative Professionals Day (April 26), Surrey Schools is recognizing all of the office staff who keeps the district running smoothly.

This year, Holly Elementary principal Lauretta Fenrick, is highlighting her school’s admin team, whom she credits with keeping the school operating optimally.
“They're absolutely invaluable to our operations, to keeping administrators like us afloat,” she said. “Whether it’s things like attendance, answering phones or handling our finances, our team of office admins make everything here possible.”
Perhaps more importantly, said Fenrick, is that administrative professionals like the secretaries at Holly are often the first point of contact for students and families.
“Whenever we have a parent come into the school or a student comes to the office needing a band-aid, our secretaries are there to greet them with warmth and a smile. They’re the people our kids see every single day and that smile and welcome is a big part of feeling like we’re a community, which is very important here at Holly.
“They wear so many hats, it’s not just office or desk work,” said Fenrick. “They really are superheroes and go above and beyond in everything they do. We are so thankful to have such a wonderful team.”
