Code of Conduct

At James Ardiel we are guided by the belief that we are all learners, who support, care, and respect ourselves, each other and the environment. Please review the "Code of Conduct" below where we detail what care, support, and respect look and sound like.

All staff are intentional about noticing, naming and nurturing positive behaviour. Every Friday, we hold a "Sparkle" draw where students are called to the office for recognition of they way they have embodied our school's mission statement.

As part of learning and growing, we understand that students will make mistakes. Staff will support students through a process of reconciliation and restoration fairly and consistently, respecting individual's rights, responsibilities, age, needs, and maturity. When we work through problems we focus on:

  1.  Awareness: Understanding the Impact of One's Actions
  2. Taking Responsibility: Acknowledge our role in what has occurred
  3. Making Reparations: Determining ideas about how to make things right through an identified plan
  4. Demonstrated Learning: If time could be reversed, the student can identify what they would do differently. Over time, if learning has occurred the undesired actions/behaviours will stop.
