Graduating Class of 2024
On behalf of the staff at Guildford Park, we look forward to honoring the Class of 2024
at this year’s commencement ceremony on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.
The Bell Center @ Sullivan Heights Secondary

Graduates must arrive by 6 p.m.
Parents/Guardians and guests: Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Commencement begins at 7 p.m.
Please allow for traffic delays as rush hour traffic is in effect.
Parking at the Bell Center is very tight but there is a back parking lot or
over-flow parking for those arriving late.
Your gown pick up is on Wednesday, June 19th from 3 to 5 pm in the Large Gym.
If you cannot make it, please message Ms. Bensley.
You will get to keep the commencement gown, cap, stole and tassel.
You will also receive three tickets to commencement.
Please ensure that you have your commencement gown and tickets with you at commencement.
Extra tickets may be available on Monday, June 24th, grads may line up in the large gym,
beginning at 11 am, it is a first come first served basis and one extra ticket may be obtained.
Only graduating students may line up. Students must sign for the ticket.
Mandatory commencement practice to be held at Guildford Park on Wednesday June 26th.
Please meet in the large gym at 11 am.
This will take one hour; we will go over what will happen and the expectations for the evening event.

Commencement Ceremony Procedures 2024
ON ARRIVAL AT BELL CENTRE/SULLIVAN HEIGHTS SECONDARY & REPORT TO THE STAFF AT THE FRONT DOOR.
- Please note the following:
- PLEASE BE ON TIME.
- Do not bring purses or jackets as there is no place to put them.
- Bell Centre/Sullivan Heights Secondary and the grounds is a non-smoking area.
- Dress is semi-formal.
- Gowns and caps, with souvenir tassels and stoles are yours to keep.
- Order of Entry:
- You will be placed in alphabetical order by a staff member. Please stay in alpha order!
- You will then be given instructions for the processional to the stage.
- Stage Deportment:
- Students should not chew gum and maintain formal decorum. No phones out for the entire
two hours.
- Your photograph will be taken by Artona while you are backstage. Each student will be provided with a complimentary picture – these can be picked up at the school office in August at the same time as graduation diplomas if you have graduated by June 30th.
- Acknowledging members of the Class of 2024:
- Student commencement write ups will be read as you cross the stage.
- Walk slowly, enjoy the moment, smile at your people.
- Reminder:
- Please be prepared to sit on stage for two hours; you will be required to be seated on stage the entire time. Use the washroom before the ceremony begins.
- You will remain on stage until the final moment when you are instructed to do the hat toss, and then you may go meet up with your family in the plaza.
Grad Cruise Details - Wednesday May 22, 2024
Cost: $100 (tickets on sale April 22-26 ONLY)
TIMELINE:
4:30pm - at school to load buses (buses will leave on time, so don't be late!)
6:00-9:00pm - Dinner cruise through False Creek
9:00pm - disembark/attendance
9:45-10:00pm - arrive back at GP
