Terry Fox Run October 16 at 1:15pm

Dear Families,

Colebrook School is proud to be taking part in this year’s Terry Fox Run on Thursday, October 16th at 1:15pm. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our school community to honour Terry’s legacy and raise funds for cancer research.

Fundraising Details

• School Goal: $2,500
• At School Donations: Students may bring a Toonie for Terry to school till October 15th. This is the only cash/coin donation collected at school.
• Online Donations: All other donations should be made online through the Terry Fox Foundation website. https://schools.terryfox.ca/100369/donate
  • Important: When donating online, please include your child’s name and teacher’s name so their class receives credit toward the fundraising total.
• The class that raises the most money online will earn a sundae party!

Volunteers Needed

We are looking for parent/guardian volunteers to help supervise the run on October 16th from 1-2:15pm. All volunteers please meet Mr. Zadeiks at 1pm for instructions and your fashionable safety vest! 

• Volunteers will be assigned a location along the outdoor route.
• If it rains, the run will be held indoors, and volunteers will be notified in the morning.

1. During the Run:
   • Volunteers are assigned designated spots along the route.
   • • Stay at your spot and monitor the students as they pass. Cheer them on! Tell them to stay off the road and watch for cars. Call the school office 6045963221 if there are any issues. 

2. After the Run – Sweep:
3. • Volunteers will walk the entire route after the run.
   • Check for any students who might still be on or near the route.
   • Ensure all students have safely reached the upper field and reunited with their classroom teacher.
   • Return safety vests to the office
