LIFT
Learning Innovations for Teens (LIFT) program
LIFT is designed for grade 10 students who are struggling in the regular system and would benefit from an opportunity to work in a smaller setting with hands on experiences and integrated approach to academics.
Goals of LIFT:
- Re-engage students with learning
- Provide an alternative learning environment
- Provide human service to the community
- Focus on brain training and social/emotional learning
- Get students caught up with their courses
- Transition to either KP or the learning centre after semester
Academic Courses
Students can potentially earn credit for:
- English First Peoples 10
- Socials 10
- PHE 10
- Career Education 10
- Skills for Success 10
- Science 10 or Math 10
Student Responsibility:
Show up every day and try!
Other Info
- Classes run Monday to Thursday from 8:40AM - 2:20PM
- There is no school on Fridays (unless they need extra time to catch up on work)
- No homework is assigned in the course
- There is a lunch program for the students and breakfast is available if needed
