Our School

Goals:

• Characteristics of the Montessori Elementary program include:
  • multi-age groupings of 6-9 and 9-12 year olds
  • the assumption that students are self-motivated to learn
  • the program is individualized and the child progresses at his/her own rate
  • promote peace locally and globally
  • develop in the child a cosmic or global view of mankind stressing the inter-dependence of people and the care of the environment

Accomplishments and Initiatives:

• Parent education
• Active student involvement in school and community service: monitoring, peer tutoring
• Implementation of technology into curricular areas
• School-wide initiatives including composting, recycling and garden project
  • Music or band instruction Grades K-7
