English Language Learners (ELL)
We are committed to helping students develop the language skills they need to succeed academically and socially. Our English Language Learners (ELL) program provides targeted support for students whose first language is not English, enabling them to thrive in our school and community.
Each year, students are assessed to determine their English proficiency level and placement within the program. This ensures that they receive the appropriate level of support to meet their needs.
The mission of our ELL program is to:
Equip students with the oral and written English skills necessary to participate fully in the regular school curriculum.
- Support students as they adapt to Canadian culture and life in our school and community.
Who Is Eligible?
Students identified as English Language Learners under the B.C. Ministry of Education guidelines are eligible for ELL services. This program is tailored to support students who are new to Canada and need to build their English skills to achieve academic success.
