Surrey Schools E-Scooter Policy

Dear Families,

Please find attached, a letter (English, Punjabi, Arabic and simplified Chinese included) from Surrey Schools regarding e-scooters and e-bikes on school property.

Surrey Schools does not permit the use or storage of e-scooters on school property. E-bikes may not be stored inside schools or charged on Surrey Schools property.

The district has worked closely with the City of Surrey to align its guidance with municipal regulations. As e-scooters are not permitted on public roads, sidewalks, parks, or other public property in Surrey and White Rock, they are also not permitted on Surrey Schools property.

Please also note that e-bike use must comply with all applicable provincial legislation and municipal bylaws, including age requirements. To help reduce the risk of fire or explosion associated with improper charging or storage, e-bikes may not be charged or stored inside school buildings. If brought onto school property, they must be secured outside using appropriate bike storage facilities.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Principal
