Clothing Swap
Did you know that the fast fashion industry is a significant contributor to pollution and climate change? Major fashion industries are responsible for as much as 10% of global carbon dioxide emissions, let alone garbage, water pollution, and worker exploitation.
The École Salish Environmental Club is proud to bring back the Clothing Swap in order to promote sustainable living. Any student or family can drop off clothing during lunchtime in Upper Green over three weeks: Monday January 20th to Friday February 7th. Our volunteers will give you one ticket per item.
Then, during the week of Feb 7-14th, students can use their tickets to ‘shop’ for ‘new’ clothing items in the Library Makerspace. Use your tickets to thrift shop in your own school!
All clothing left over after the last day (Feb 14th) will be donated to a local charity.
We accept clothing, shoes and accessories of any size, inclusive of children’s clothes. Please ensure items are clean and still in good condition before donating.
