Volunteer Driver Application

The Ministry of Education and Childcare has mandated that school district's move forward with new regulations regarding Parent Drivers and Volunteers.  For any new field trips moving forward, we will ask parents/volunteers to follow this process:

1. Parent completes the Driver form.
2. Parent gets copy of Driver's abstract. 
3. Parent is given a form letter from teacher that is used to get a free criminal record search completed through the police at no cost.

A common question may be how a Driver's Abstract is assessed for eligibility?

To qualify as a volunteer driver, the abstract must show:

1. Driver Status: Normal
2. No more than 2 Motor Vehicle Act violations in the past three years
3. No more than three points in the past three years
4. No suspensions or prohibitions in the past five years

Once these documents have been collected, please share them with the classroom teacher or office.  The documents will be filed for the year.  Moving forward, parents will see these forms come out every year in September when teachers begin organizing field trips.
