Surrey Schools is committed to providing equitable, diverse and inclusive work and learning environments that foster a sense of belonging for all students and we are committed to making registration as smooth as possible for you. The most important thing is getting your child in school!

If you would like assistance registering, there is a helpful ‘Registering With Surrey Schools’ video here that is available in Punjabi, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese and Tagalog. You can also contact or visit your neighbourhood school and staff will be happy to help.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

How do I register my child in the Surrey School District?

You can register online here or you can visit surreyschools.ca and click the ‘Register Today’ button in the top right. If you need assistance in a language other than English, you can consult of the videos above, or staff at your local school can connect you with our Welcome Centre to assist.

Our website also includes a School Locator tool which can be used to identify which neighbourhood school your child should attend school based on your home address.

What documents are needed to register?

We need a few official documents in order to get to know you:

  • A photo ID for the parent or guardian, such as a driver's license, passport, BC Services Card, or BCID card.
  • Evidence of legal guardianship, such as the child's birth certificate or other documentation like a landed immigrant document or guardianship order.
  • Evidence of the child’s birth date, such as a birth certificate or passport of the child.

In order to show the parent or guardian lives in B.C., we also need a valid government-issued document showing your address. This can be a BC Driver's License, BC Services Card, BCID card, or ICBC vehicle registration document.

Please note that if you don't have any of these documents, don't worry! There are many other options available to verify your name and address, like providing two pieces of mail. Your school will be happy to work with you to find a solution to get your child registered as quickly as possible.
