The B.C. government is hosting two free virtual information sessions for Grade 10 to 12 students – as well as parents, teachers, counsellors and anyone interested in career planning – to learn about post-secondary education and career opportunities for senior secondary students.

EducationPlannerBC – an interactive career planning tool by the Ministry of Education and Child Care to help students find and pursue careers – is running Live Learning, a series of sessions on Microsoft Teams taking place Wednesday, Jan. 22 and Tuesday, March 4, both from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The two online presentations will explore programs and trades offered at 25 public and six private post-secondary institutions within B.C., and job opportunities for students graduating in the coming years.

educationplannerbc.ca features a comprehensive directory of thousands of programs, as well as helpful resources such as financial aid options, admission requirements, FAQs and a glossary. Program categories include:

  • Business
  • Community & Support Services
  • Education

  • Hospitality, Tourism & Recreation
  • Labour & Technical Skills
  • Law & Justice

The sessions will also teach participants how to create an account with EducationPlannerBC and save programs, paths and careers to My List, as well as apply to post-secondary in B.C.

All registrants must be 16 years of age or older. If you are under the age of 16, registration must be completed by your parent or legal guardian.

Please note: This session will not be recorded. Participant microphone, camera, and chat functionality will be disabled. Your name and/or email address may display in the session based on the account options you have set up in your Microsoft Teams.
